    Angus has worked in education for 25 years, first as a teacher, vice principal, and principal, at both the elementary and secondary levels, before becoming a Superintendent in 2008. Formerly in northern BC, Angus has overseen Mission Public Schools since 2016.

    Karen has been an educator in public schools for 27 years, including two years as faculty associate at Simon Fraser University. She has worked in district level administration since 2014, first as a District Principal of curriculum in Surrey and has now been with Mission Public Schools since 2019 as Assistant Superintendent.

    Corien has worked for 30+ years in the public sector: 25 years with 5 local governments as an accountant, chief financial officer, and chief administrative officer, and has been the Secretary Treasurer for Mission Public Schools since June 2016.

    Tina has worked in public school districts for 30 years as a high school teacher, elementary and secondary school administrator and the past 3 years as Director of Instruction- Human Resources. She has been with MPSD for 18 years.

    Carolynn has 20+ years of working as an educator in the public-school setting: 8 years teaching and 15 in administration K-12, including District Principal for Indigenous Education, and almost 5 years as the Director of Instruction, Student Services, for Mission Public Schools.

    Vivian Searwar
    District Principal of Indigenous Education @ School District 75 (Mission)

    Vivian is of Cree/Métis ancestry and of settler heritage from Meskanaw, Saskatchewan. She is a member of Muskoday First Nation. Vivian has been an educator since 1991 and an advocate for Indigenous learners and families and Indigenous curriculum and education. She started her SD75 teaching career in 1998 as a French Immersion teacher, advanced to the Vice-Principal of Hatzic Elementary, and since 2018, has worked at the Siwal Si’wes Indigenous Department.

    Shelley Carter
    Board Chair @ School District 75 (Mission)

    Shelley is a fourth term trustee since 2011. She has had 3 children attend and graduate from Mission Public Schools, and grandchildren attending. Shelley is a certified Hairstylist and certified Floral Designer. Shelley is a passionate advocate for Public Education. She served in PAC executive roles at Dewdney Elementary and Hatzic Secondary since 1992. She also served as DPAC Chair and Secretary.

    Tracy has served as a trustee since 2014 and has been the Board Chair from 2017 till 2022. Tracy owned and operated a small business for 17 years, has had children in Mission schools since 2007. Currently, Tracy serves as the Vice-President of the BC School Trustee Association.

    Jash has been a health care professional since 2009 and has had children in Mission schools since 2016. She has become a Community builder since 2019. Jash is also a demographic organizer for the United Way.

    Randy Cairns
    School Trustee @ School District 75 (Mission)

    Randy and his wife have resided in Mission since 1975.He has been a Trustee since around 2006. All three of their children attended Mission Public Schools, two graduated from the French Immersion program. Randy coached girls soccer for many years. His career includes 25 years with the railroad, BC Hydro, and 10 years with BC Tel, during which he gained a lot of experience in union activism. Randy also volunteered on the Fraser Valley Crisis Line for 6 years and served on the Board of Directors for Mission Community Services for 2 years.

    Linda has valuable practical experience of the Mission Public Schools of all levels, teaching from Kindergarten-Grade12, and from being a Principal. Linda recently retired from her administrative role.
