At the Public meeting of the Board of Education on May 20, 2025, the Board of Education resolved THAT staff be directed toreturn a DRAFT Budget to the next Special Committee of the Whole Budget Meeting, that reduces the draw from the unrestricted surplus to approximately $100,000. The review of the draft budget indicates a significant surplus use that could deplete funds by the end of the school year, necessitating substantial amendments. The projected draw from the surplus is $1.5M, leaving a balance significantly below the target surplus allocation of 2%.
The above resolution would require a reduction of about $1.45M. Staff have reviewed and calculated some possible adjustments. See Documents for more details.
