2025-2026 Preliminary Budget

Please review the Budget documents added into the Documents Widget as they become available by MPSD Finance Staff.

At the Public meeting of the Board of Education on May 20, 2025, the Board of Education resolved THAT staff be directed to return a DRAFT Budget to the next Special Committee of the Whole Budget Meeting, that reduces the draw from the unrestricted surplus to approximately $100,000. The review of the draft budget indicates a significant surplus use that could deplete funds by the end of the school year, necessitating substantial amendments. The projected draw from the surplus is $1.5M, leaving a balance significantly below the target surplus allocation of 2%.

The above resolution would require a reduction of about $1.45M. Staff have reviewed and calculated some possible adjustments.
